The 116th winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Friday 3rd May 1929 over the Rowley Mile, was Taj Mah (33/1), a grey filly by Lemberg out of Taj Mahal, owned by Simon Guthmann. The winner won by 3/4 length in 1 minute 40.4 secs, with a short head back to the third. A field of 19 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £291,900 in 2017)
